The Great British Music Festival.
The target audience for this event is mainly for adults and people who enjoy rock music. The Background of the poster looks like it's supposed to be vintage with the yellowy colours and the creases, this links in with the illustrations and the style of the music. This shows that the music at this festival is fairly old, The victorian people which have been illustrated at the sides of the poster represents Britain, and the shield has the British flag printed on to it. The different size fonts and the gutters have separated the information and also makes the whole lay out neater. The bold title in red is outlined by a thick black boarder, which makes it stand out more which captures the attention of the audience. The colour theme of the poster matches the title which ties the whole thing together and makes the poster look very distinctive. The by lines are at the bottom of the poster and right at the bottom right corner, it also says who presents the event right at the top of the page above the heading. The Headliners are in bold serif writing to make them stand out so people will notice the most popular band name when they see it.
Vest-ival
This festival can be something you can attend as a family, so it's targeted at all ages. The background on this poster is very minimalist but also very bold at the same time because of the bright orange colour. The vest shape picture behind the text is because it stands for the 'Vest' in Vestival. The orange banner going across the vest stands out because it's on a coloured background, it needs to stand out because that tells you what the festival is and what sort of things are there. The Headliners are in big unique fonts so when people walk past the poster the headliners will be the first thing they see. the web address is at the bottom of the poster so that if people want more information or want to book online then they can go to that address to do so.
Greenday.
The target audience for this Greenday event is aimed at punk rockers in their teens and above. The poster is of a band called Greenday, it is advertising a No1 selling album called American Idiot and one of their best selling songs Wake me up when september ends which is in a bold Sans serif font in order to capture the audiences attention. The name of the band is in bold capitals in a impact sans serif font to seperate it from other information included in the poster to give it a neater effect so its more simple to read. The picture features Billie Joe (the lead singer of Greenday) this is a shot from the music video Wake me up when september ends which makes it relevant to the text on top of it. The banner at the bottom has important information on and it is on one block colour which makes the text stand out. The web address and the company who created the poster is in the bottom right corner for copyright reasons.
Prince.
Aimed towards people from the Era where Prince was more popular and people who listen to this style of music. The poster features Prince which is a band of a different generation. It is advertising a best selling double album. The advert is in the style of Vouge magazine to grasp attention of the audience and make them want to read what it's about. The colour of the cover makes it look vintage which interests people and makes them want to find out more about more. The title of the bands name is written as the heading of the magazine to show what the advert is about and to make it stand out, it is also written in a serif font. The different sections of text say different things to make them look like different stories of a magazine. Little Red Corvette is the name of the album, it is written as a sub heading and in italics to seperate it from the main heading.
Bandon Music Festival.
This festival is aimed at all ages but under 12's must be accompanied by an adult. The poster is promoting an outdoor music festival called Bandon Music festival. The background stands out a lot because of the red and orange colour which connotes that it's loud because it looks like fire, this is also complemented by the heading. The 'music' part of the title is put in a white colour to make it stand out against the background, it needs to stand out because it's saying whats in the festival and what it's about which is music. The three yellow banners have the dates of the festival and the white post it note design has all the important information at the bottom right corner but it is kept simple so it doesnt take away attention from the other the sections of the advert. promotional adverts are on a small yellow banner at the bottom for copyright reasons, and the web address is on a black banner so that you can get more information from the site. Social networking sites are put in the corner to advertise that they have a group that can be joined on Facebook and twitter.
i have thoroughly investigated each one of these adverts and none of them are breaking any of the codes, as none contain anything offence, misleading, promiscuous advertising.
