LO1: Analysing Conventions Of Graphic Design Products.

This is a V festival flyer.
The purpose of this flyer is to promote a festival. The content isn't heavily detailed but it shows the things you need to know such as who's playing, the date, when tickets come on sale and a link to go on to a website to find out more about the event. The style of the flyer is colourful in bright which grasps the attention of viewers. The layout is set nicley into clean white blocks with sans serif font making it stand out, The colours of the font are black and red which goes with the logo. The target audience would obviously be young adults, as festivals aren't for children, and if it was for more mature adults the flyer would seem more clean and mature to fit the target audience. All the images will be drawn so there will be no legal issues or copyright problems.

V festival logo.
The purpose of this logo is to show the event of a festival. This logo should be on every piece of advertisement.  The content of this is simple, it is just font with a big red tick. The style of this logo is basically just simple black and red font with a thick outline the define it better, the red on the V is the only colour on the logo making it very effective. The layout of the logo is neat but still grabs attention with the red, in my opinion i like the simplicity of it. The target audience of the logo fits to everyone other than children, because children are usually drawn to bright colours and cartoons. The copyright of this logo wouldn't have been an issue because it would have all been hand drawn and edited and created from original ideas and fonts.

V fest ticket.
The purpose of this ticket is to get in to the festival as proof as buying a ticket, this could also be used as a souvenir after the festival. The content of the ticket involves where it is and the time, date and also a bar code so it can be scanned, this way the ticket cannot be plagiarized. The style of the ticket is very bright and summery, which goes well with the fact the festival is in summer, it is but into white blocks where the information goes so it can be read clearly. The layout is spread out making it look not messy and easy to read, this avoids confusion. The target audience is obviously young people because of the brightness which connotes youth.

Coachella flyer.
The purpose of this flyer is to advertise a festival. The content of it is kept simple as it is not a magazine advert, but it still includes details you need to know such as location and who's playing at the event. The style of the flyer is in warm colours to connote sun, as the festival is L.A this also goes well with the palm trees. The layout is put into different sections, so you have the main information at the top and then who's playing each 3 dates filling up the whole flyer. The main acts which are playing e.g Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin are in big bold fonts which makes them stand out the most, this will draw people in if they are fond of whos playing. The target audience would be more older people than young people due to the musicians playing and the lack of bright colours. As this is an old flyer there wasn't much software available to make the flyer, or much influences to copy, so i think this is all drawn so there was no legal issues or copyright.

Coachella billboard.
The purpose of the billboard is to advertise the festival. the content is simple because there isn't much time to see it, but it shows clearly what it is. The name of the festival is in a big font and it tells you what it is in a slightly smaller different font, the shows the neatness of the layout.  By the look of the billboard the target audience would be older people as the colours are very neutral and the person on it looks like a mature adult. There would have been no copyright issues as it is just the photograph, and permission would have been used from the photographer to use it so there would be no legal issues.

Coachella Banner.
The purpose of this banner is to advertise, it would be really big and go somewhere which would get a lot of attention. The content is simple as there is limited text, it says the name of the festival and has pictures which connote summer and L.A. e.g palm trees. This is also the same for the tents in the picture because it connotes that it is a festival, because people usually camp out at festivals. The style is very mellow, it shows a relaxing sunset colour theme, which shows it's a place more for grown ups as it is a place to relax and not party. The layout is simple and gets the point across, but yet still shows it is a festival beause of the tents. the images look drawn so there would be no copyright issues as long as it was an original idea.

 Doc fest billboard.
This is a billboard for Sheffield Doc Fest, It advertises the event. The content is simple and just has key words which would attract young adults which would be the target audience. The style sticks to the pink and black cut out theme which is Doc fests main feature. The layout is slightly messy but it is meant to look slightly grungey, but you can still tell what it says clearly. This would be made on computer software by scratch so there is no copyright issues.

Website banner.
This shows that doc fest is about films and is to advertise that. It shows that there are films at Doc Fest and shows a group of people watching a movie. The style is simple with one word but stuck to the pink and black theme. The layout of the bottom is clear and easy to read, mainly because there is only one word, i think this would have looked better if there was more cut out bits and the opacity was opaque. There shouldnt be any legal issues unless the photo is stolen from someone else.

Doc fest navigation bar.
This is the navigation bar from the old doc fest website. It shows all the things you can click on and find out about Doc fest. The style is the same as the first piece i analyzed about Doc fest, they used blocks that look like ripped up pieces of paper to seperate each bit which avoids it looking messy. The layout is layed into different sections, so you have the Doc Fest logo at the top, sponser and date, and then theres the different tabs you can click layed out across the bottom in two lines. There should be no legal issues  with this piece.
